Lowercase Alphabet

The next series of guide sheets contain the full lowercase alphabet, along with samples of alternate letterforms. Although the letters are presented in alphabetical order, I highly suggest practicing letters in groups based on a common basic stroke they share.

For example, if you’d like to improve on your oval form, practice letters like a, d, g, o, and q at the same time. Likewise, if you’d like to work on the underturn, practice letters like a, i, u, and w. Note that a letter can fall into more than one group; for example, the letter a.

Practicing letters in groups reinforces your muscle memory for the particular basic stroke you are focusing on.
